Are all dance forms required for registration?

Your dancer may choose any subject they would like to enroll whether for the recreational or competitive program. Dancers ages 3-5 are required to enroll in our pre-school combination one hour class consisting of 15 minutes each of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Tumbling.

What is your average class size?

Most average between 8-14 dancers in each class. Larger classes will also have a couple of assistants in the class with the instructors.

Am I able to watch my child’s dance class?

All studios have either one way windows (you can see in, but they can’t see out) or an open area waiting room for observation.

What should my dancer wear to class?

Each class uniform is different dependent on level and subject. Please see our policy sheet under the sign up page for class requirements or go to the link under the CSTEPS FAM page on this site for our Curtain Call in class online store. You may also go to Dance On in Laconia.

Is my son permitted to dance? 

Yes! We encourage boys to join in the fun. While we do have some all boy classes, we encourage boys to jump in with the rest of any other class at any time. All classes based on age and level.

Do you offer family discounts?

Absolutely! Please contact the office for details.

My child is an advanced student? 

All students are placed based in class based on age, ability level, years of dance, and focus. All levels are at the discretion of the CSTEPS staff.

Is performance in your year-end show mandatory?

Our year-end performance is a fun and exciting way to end the season after working hard all year. While dancers gain a lot of experience from this event it is not mandatory. Please let the office know if you choose not to perform. 

When? Where? is your year-end production and how many shows do you do? 

Our year-end production will be held the 3rd weekend in June pending school snow days. The show will be held at the Gilford High School in Gilford, NH. (the above information is tentative pending Gilford School District) 

What is the financial commitment to be in the Show? 

Costumes for the show run approximately $70-$80 per costume including all tights and accessories, so final costs depend on how many classes you are in. There is no additional show fee other than tickets for observation. Dance photos and show shirts are optional for purchase.     

I would like to just have my child dance for fun? 

CSTEPS fosters a nurturing, fun, nonintimidating, and upbeat program. All programs create a positive learning experience whether your dancer dances recreationally or on a competitive level.  

How much are your classes? 

Classes are paid monthly and are priced by the hour. For further information on pricing email We offer discounts on multiple classes. The more hours you dance per week the bigger the discount. The fall session runs from the middle of September to the middle of June. Classes are totaled and divided by 10 monthly payments. Summer classes and camps are billed separately. 

How do I sign my child up for class? To register for fall or summer class you can either download a registration form from our sign up page and mail it back to Creative Steps at 20 Canal St. #212, Franklin, NH 03235 or email the office at All dancers registering for the fall program are required to pay a $25 fall registration fee to hold your spot. 

Can we try a class before we register? 

Absolutely! We encourage new dancers to try a class or two before registration. You may sign up for the class once we have all decided which classes work for you. Please contact the office at for class availability. When should I report a class absence? Random absences are not necessary to report. If you find you will be missing class for multiple weeks please email the office at  

What is your class make up policy? 

Classes missed due to absence may be made up in a class of like subject throughout the week. Please see office for available options. Scheduled days off on the CSTEPS calendar are already figured into your tuition and will not be made up. Classes missed due to weather may be made up in a class of like subject up to 2 cancellations per class. Any missed classes above the limit will be made up during February or April vacation. Dancers will be notified by office. 

What is your withdrawal policy? 

Any who choose to discontinue class should contact the office immediately. Please go to the office or email the office at There will be no refunds for the month in which withdrawal takes place. You will be responsible for all tuition charges until withdrawal notification is given. All costume deposits for the show are non-refundable.
